What is a patient and visitor story?
It is the story of your experience in our hospitals, in your own words. These stories allow you to tell us, first hand, about any aspect of your experience with us – what you liked, disliked, think we could improve or to let us know about a staff member who made the difference during your time with us. We use these stories for a variety of reasons, such as for training purposes and as part of our corporate materials - Quality Accounts, Annual Report, newsletters, website, etc.

Our staff really value feedback from patients and visitors so we will ensure that all comments are passed on to the relevant ward or department.
What if I have a concern or complaint or need help?
This section is not designed to be used to submit concerns or complaints. If you wish to make a complaint, you can do so by contacting our Patient Relations Team. Alternatively, if you need any further help or information, please call our confidential Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS). They can be contacted on 01539 795 497 or via email.
If we use your story, we will only publish your first name and town, unless you indicate that you do not want us to use this information. All other information submitted will be kept confidential. Sometimes, we may want to contact you to discuss your comments further or check the details so if you are happy to provide further contact details, such as your email address, that would be very helpful.
We will only amend a story if we feel that personal details have been included that may identify a person who has not agreed for their details to be shown.
If at any time, you wish for your patient story to be removed from our database and deleted, then please do not hesitate to write to the Head of Communications and Marketing on the below address. However you will need to have provided your details when you submitted your original story so we can action your request.

It is up to you about how much information you provide but details about the dates, times and the ward or department you are telling us about are very useful to help us identify the correct teams to pass your story on to.
