Foundation Training 2012 key dates
If any individual, or groups of individuals, want to visit our hospitals, we would be delighted to organise your visit. We will arrange for you to look around, meet current Foundation doctors and talk to staff and educators who would be involved in your training.
Pre-employment screening
Following the application and scoring process all identified applicants will be required to attend a pre employment screening session at the Trust. This will comprise a short OSCE session (to assess competency in clinical skills) and a brief face to face interview.

A two week shadowing programme is put in place prior to your start date. This provides an opportunity for you to familiarise yourself with your new working environment and get to know colleagues better, whilst undertaking mandatory training and administrative protocols. This programme is designed to ease you comfortably into the working life of our Trust and resolve any issues prior to your first working day.

You will be required to undertake a medical induction programme which will cover all mandatory training aspects, health and employment checks. This also provides an opportunity to meet members of staff within the education and service setting. There will also be a departmental induction programme which will address day to day aspects such as leave, rotas, policies and procedures.
