Palliative Care

We provide part of the Cumbrian Specialist Palliative Care Service. The Specialist Palliative Care Team offers advice on pain and symptom control, psychological and spiritual support and advice to families and carers.

The team consists of a number of different professionals including specialist nurses, doctors and allied health professionals. As well as directly supporting patients and carers, the team is a source of advice and support about palliative and end of life care for health and social care teams across all settings.

The team is available Monday to Friday, with on call arrangements for both the Hospice at Home services during the evening and weekends.

What people have said about this service:

"You can stay in your own home with support. Great comfort to know you are not alone in caring for a loved one who is terminally ill. Allows you to spend time with them and let's face it, time is so precious!"
