The services we provide;
Children’s Inpatient, Day Care, Assessment and Outpatients

Our Children’s inpatient services provide compassionate care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years of age across two busy sites, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital.  The unit’s provide care for a mixture of specialty and to a wide range of conditions including High Dependency Care.  Out of normal working hours staff provide support and assistance to the Emergency Department.

The unit’s encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services for our communities.  We also have dedicated Children’s Out-Patient department’s on both sites.  This all ensures a rich variety of experiences and development for our staff.

Emergency Department

To ensure that the Children’s and Young People within our communities receive the best possible care when visiting our Emergency Department’s we are now working collaboration with our Emergency colleagues to provide Children’s leadership and emergency care with dedicated Children’s nurses 24/7.

Development Opportunities

Here at Morecambe Bay we are not only committed to supporting our employees in mandatory training requirements but also professional development in your Children’s nursing career / clinical support career.  We offer the following (not an exhaustive list):

We are in the process of rolling out E-Rostering which offers many benefits to our employees and allows a more accessible Off Duty, easier requests system, making annual leave requests from the comfort of your own home.

Available Opportunities

We have various posts available across our two units for Registered Children’s Nurses at Band 5 and Band 6.  Band 2 Clinical Support Workers and Band 4 Hospital Play Specialists.

Within the Children and Young Peoples Department we can predict that our quietest periods are traditionally during the warmer months and then peaks in the winter months. With this in mind we are looking to consider annualised hours agreements which would allow individuals to take more annual leave during the summer months.

We will be holding the following Recruitment days which will be an opportunity for you to meet the team, have a look around our units and be interviewed all at the same time:

Although there will be an opportunity on the Recruitment day to have a look around the unit (s) we would encourage and welcome you to come and have a look beforehand.

All candidates will be expected to attend the appropriate date for the complete session.  All relevant pre-employment checks will be instigated on the day and candidates will be notified prior to interview of the documents you will be required to bring.

If any of the posts appeal to you and would require you to relocate then please contact our HR Business Partner, Katy Stretch, to discuss our Removal Expenses Policy on either 07760172039 or for more information today.
