What do Dietitians do?

Dietitians translate up to date evidence based public health and scientific research on food, health and disease into practical guidance to enable patients to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

They treat a range of medical conditions with dietary therapy, specially tailored to each individual. You can be referred to a Dietitians from your GP, Consultant or other recognised health professionals such as a Specialist Nurse, Speech Therapist or District Nurse.

Dietetic services are offered across Morecambe Bay in acute hospitals, outreach clinics, health centres, patients’ homes and social care settings.
