About us

As a teaching hospital, research at University Hospitals Morecambe Bay Trust is vital to the development of a better healthcare for our patients as well as the development of our next generation doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals.

Our Research and Development department consists of a multi-disciplinary team, which encompasses research practitioners, specialist nurses, clinical scientists and a support team of graduate interns and administrators, working together across a variety of research areas. The department is responsible for the governance, performance, quality and finance associated with our research studies.

University Hospitals Morecambe Bay Trust is highly active in clinical research with ongoing collaborative research studies working alongside local universities and running in-house research projects. The department also manages a number of commercial clinical trials. Our research is performed across the three hospitals in our Trust to deliver research opportunities for all our patients.
