Help us design research on discussing the right place for care

One of our consultants, Dr Christopher Chiswell, is currently researching how we share decision making with patients and their family and carers on making sure our patients are treated in the right place at the right time. 

While hospitals are essential if you need specialist care, an operation or intensive monitoring, sometimes people are admitted who will recover better and stay independent if they were cared for elsewhere, particularly if the main problem is about mobility, confidence or coping with activities of daily living.

We want to listen to patients, their families and carers, and healthcare professionals on how it could be done better.

We are still designing this project, and we know research works best when its shaped by the people it affects. If this is an issue that might affect you or your loved ones, Dr Chiswell would be grateful if you could watch the short introductory video (3 minutes), and complete a short feedback survey (5 minutes) to help us ask the right questions, and make sure the research has a positive impact for our local communities.
