Bay Hospitals Charity is spreading festive joy this December with free ‘Light Up Christmas’ events at three Morecambe Bay hospitals.
The charity is inviting families throughout the community to celebrate the festive season by joining Christmas lights switch-on events at sites run by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT).
The celebrations will take place at the following locations:
- Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow at the Main Entrance of the hospital on Tuesday 9 December at 4.45pm.
- Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal at the Main Entrance on Wednesday 10 December at 4pm.
- Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) at the Main Entrance to the Centenary Building on Thursday 11 December at 4pm.
All three events promise festive entertainment for the whole family, featuring carol singers and special appearances by Santa himself!
The celebrations are completely free to attend and open to all members of the community as well as patients and hospital staff.
Judith Read, Bay Hospitals Charity Manager, said: “Our Christmas lights ceremonies represent our charity’s commitment to bringing cheer to patients, colleagues and the wider community during the festive season. By coming along you’ll help us to spread positivity throughout our hospitals. It’s a chance to make memories and celebrate together as a community. Just turn up and enjoy the fun!”
Bay Hospitals Charity collects donations to help improve hospital environments, fund advanced equipment and provide extra care beyond what the NHS can offer. Donations make a real difference to people and help create the best possible experience for patients and families.
