I'm delighted to announce that we have appointed Lynne Wyre as the Interim Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for the Trust.

Lynne Wyre, newly appointed Interim Chief Nursing OfficerLynne has a wealth of nursing and managerial experience, which she brings to the Interim CNO role. Lynne has been the Deputy Chief Nurse for the Trust for over six years, where she has led on several areas including Quality, Safety and Patient Experience developing and implementing the Fundamentals of Care framework and the Quality Assurance Accreditation scheme ensuring that safety and quality of care is provided to our patients through a professional nursing workforce. She has also managed the corporate nursing functions and took responsibility for key aspects of strategy development and operational business.

She has also undertaken roles as Divisional Senior Nurse and Assistant Chief Nurse for UHMBT and Head of Nursing, Governance and Assurance for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. Lynne is a well-liked, approachable, and supportive colleague at UHMBT and has been heavily involved in the Inclusion and Diversity work at the Trust, including the “Getting to Equity” programme.

Lynne believes in compassionate leadership, as described by Michael West 2022, which 'involves a focus on relationships through careful listening to, understanding, empathising with and supporting other people, enabling those we lead to feel valued, respected and cared for, so they can reach their potential and do their best work.'

Away from work, Lynne is a keen cyclist and enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren and walking her dog whenever she can.

Lynne's appointment follows the announcement of Tabetha Darmon's retirement from the NHS after 31 years. Tabetha will be leaving the Trust on 22 August 2025, and whilst she is retiring from the NHS, she will be using her extensive skills and experience to support the Government of Jersey as their Executive Director of Nursing from September 2025.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Tabetha for her hard work, dedication, and leadership over the past few years. Tabetha has made a significant impact during her time with us, and we wish her every success in her new role in Jersey.
