Our Trust has been named as one of the Trusts included in Baroness Valerie Amos' national, independent investigation into NHS maternity and neonatal services.
We have received notice that our Trust is likely to receive a two-day visit in January 2026.
In preparation for the visit, the Trust is currently:

Arranging a data sharing agreement

Sharing policies, procedures and other documentation

Arranging space for the site visit

Liaising with the investigation team to arrange interviews with key colleagues within the service and senior Trust managers
During the visit, the investigation team will conduct interviews with colleagues and evidence panels, and will undertake site walkarounds.
The visit will also include evidence panels with families, to take place in the local area, and the investigation team will be separately reaching out to the local Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership to arrange these.
We look forward to supporting the investigation and will fully embrace the opportunity to learn and make any further improvements beyond those we have made over recent years. We will also listen to and work with our services users and families to take forward any further opportunities to improve as a result of this work.
