Summer fair benefits children at outpatient department

10 December 2019

A summer fair organised by and held at Furness Academy in Barrow raised a staggering £1,167 – which has now been donated to the children’s outpatient department at Furness General Hospital (FGH).

The department has used the money to purchase toys which can be used by those attending the department.

Emily Brice, Acting clinical lead for the outpatient department, said: “The money raised by children at the Academy will make a huge difference to the overall experience of the children visiting Children’s Outpatients.

“The toys have brightened up our playroom. We will be purchasing a tablet and sensory toys which will be used for distraction. All the staff in Children’s Outpatients are extremely grateful for this donation.”
