It's International #NursesDay on 12 May 2026!

IND is celebrated around the world on 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth.

Today we are celebrating all of our incredible Nursing colleagues who care for countless patients across Morecambe Bay every day. We can't thank you all enough

"Nursing is more than a role or a profession. It is a commitment to compassion, courage, and expertise - often delivered under pressure. Whether you work in direct care, in the hospitals or in the community, education, research, leadership, or support roles, your contribution matters, and our services, patients, and communities are better because of you.

"I am continuously inspired by the kindness, compassion and empathy our teams show to patients, their families and each other, particularly during life's most difficult and vulnerable moments. Wherever you are working, you are making a difference.

"International Nurses' Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all of our incredible nursing teams in hospitals and communities across Morecambe Bay. On behalf of the entire Trust Leadership Team, THANK YOU for everything you do!"
