There are 3 Endoscopy Units across Morecambe Bay NHS Trust – Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) and Furness General Hospital (FGH). We serve an area large demographic area covering South Cumbria and North Lancashire, with a population of between 350,000 and 370,000.
All 3 units are Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accredited. JAG accreditation demonstrates that we achieve a high quality and safe service provision, ensuring excellent patient experience. This award is reviewed annually to ensure standards remain consistently high. JAG accreditation allows our units to complete procedures for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Program (BCSP).
WGH is an outpatient, diagnostic unit only. RLI and FGH both offer both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
