What is Mi-PRES?
Mi-PRES is service that has been developed for the NHS to link a patient's NHS health record to clinical applications. It allows patients greater access and control of their electronic health record in a safe and secure digital environment.
Accessing Mi-PRES
All patients who have been invited to use the Mi-PRES service will need to have an NHS login.

What will happen when I am enrolled?
When you have been enrolled by a service, you will receive an email.
- Click the invitation link, which will direct you to the Mi-PRES login screen.
- Log in with your NHS login details.
If you do not have an NHS login, you will be redirected to the NHS homepage to create one when trying to log into Mi-PRES.

Mi-PRES FAQs
Yes. Mi-PRES meets NHS requirements and standards for health record systems and is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Yes. This is an online service and will require you, or a nominated carer, to have regular internet access to receive your correspondence via the portal and to use the additional features.
You have been identified as a suitable patient to take part in the pilot, where you will get to use the service and offer feedback to help improve MiPRES before it is rolled out to the wider population.
Mi-PRES has been designed to support patients to:
- Manage their appointments by providing access to information about their appointments
- Offer them a choice of ways to receive information from their consultant / care team
- Ability to chare their health record with family, carers and health professionals in a secure way
- Ability to complete appointment related tasks at a time convenient to them, such as pre-appointment questionnaires.
If you no longer wish to take part in the pilot, please contact the appropriate service and inform them you are withdrawing consent to take part in the pilot. You will not be disadvantaged if you choose to opt out, and can do so at any point during the pilot.
If you are concerned that your personal information is incorrect, you will need to contact your GP practice to change your information as this can only be changed at source. This is then automatically updated in the portal once your GP practice has corrected / amended it.
No. There are no costs to you as a patient as the portal is being funded by Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated System (ICS).
You will need to log into Mi-PRES every time as a safety measure. After 15 minutes of inactivity, you will automatically be logged out. This is to protect your patient record and sensitive data.
